San Antonio Regional Hospital needed a dedicated multimedia space that could support high-quality content creation, collaboration, and communication while maintaining a simple, user-friendly experience for staff. The goal was to transform a vision for a modern production environment into a fully integrated AV solution that could meet the organization’s evolving needs.

Creating a space that balanced professional production capabilities with ease of use was a key priority. The studio needed to provide the flexibility to support a variety of content needs while allowing staff members to confidently operate the technology without a steep learning curve.

The challenge was developing an AV environment that seamlessly combined advanced technology, intuitive controls, and reliable performance. SPL worked closely with the San Antonio Regional Hospital team to design and implement a multimedia studio that delivers a polished, professional experience while keeping the technology accessible. SPL delivered a complete audiovisual production system designed to support a flexible, high-quality content creation environment. By integrating professional audio, video, lighting, scenic elements, and intuitive control technologies, we created a fully equipped studio capable of supporting interviews, livestreams, podcasts, presentations, and collaborative productions.

For audio, SPL implemented a professional microphone and speaker system featuring Shure wireless microphone technology, including lavalier and handheld systems, along with Fulcrum Acoustic speakers and subwoofer solutions. The system provides clear, reliable audio capture and playback while supporting a variety of production workflows, from interviews and panel discussions to live conversations and Q&A sessions.

The video and production environment was designed to deliver a broadcast-quality experience with five Canon professional cameras, camera pedestals, and an Autoscript teleprompter system. Integrated lighting solutions from Aputure, scenic lighting, and color-changing tunable white fixtures provide consistent, customizable illumination for any production style, while the scenic design adds a polished and professional backdrop for content creation.

To streamline operation, SPL integrated a user-friendly control system featuring Q-SYS and Zoom Room functionality managed through iPad control interfaces. The completed solution provides a seamless production experience that allows teams to easily manage audio, video, lighting, and collaboration tools from a centralized interface. The result is a scalable and reliable multimedia space built to support current production needs while remaining adaptable for future growth.

This project was about much more than installing new technology, it was about creating a modern multimedia environment that empowers San Antonio Regional Hospital to communicate, educate, and collaborate more effectively.
